Mountain Goats are about the coolest animals out there, they dare each other to climb the creepiest cliffs in the canyons... and they do.

I.F. Heights

With the advent of better hairsprays and trustworthy bobby pins, Gy Hamlet was able to take Hairstyles to HEIGHTS never before seen.

My good friend Guy Francis and his friend Stacy Curtis started a great blog called Dueling Banjo Pigs. If you haven't seen it check it out at http://banjopigs.blogspot.com .

This is one of my entries to the blog, I was thinking that the pigs from Africa needed some attention as well.

Illustration Friday- Vocal

This week's word for Illustration Friday is "vocal". When the theme was announced  immediately thought of bull elk bugling in September, it's one of the great vocalizations ever created. One of the resurrected trends for hunters is to wear a decoy hat made to look like their quarry. Last year I saw a personalized license plate that read "BUGLEMAN".  Here is my rendition of "Bugleman" in his costume. I created it this week for I.F.

I.F. Separate

"Separate" was an Illustration Friday word from a few months ago. I like the story of Moses separating the red sea, so I painted it. There's also a great documentary about this incident by Cecil B Demille... I think it's called The Ten Commandments or something...

I.F.'s word for this week is "Return".

So there once was a carrier pigeon named "Cher Ami" that saved the lives of nearly 200 U.S. soldiers in WW1 before losing his leg and an eye in his final return to the base. The army docs saved his life and fashioned a little wooden leg for him. I fashioned some goggles and a bullet proof vest for him. It's okay if a tear has come to your eye.

My son Easton has an art class at Provo high. One of his assignments was to contribute an illustration for Illustration Friday, a blog that throws out a new word to illustrate every week. He asked if I wanted to join with him and well, I did. The following are a few of my illustrations from this experiment.

The topics from top to bottom were; Swamp, Return, Grounded, Capable, Forward, Intention, Prepare,
Capable2, Shades1 and 2, Twirl, Yield and Suspence.
